Try a K+N air cleaner for about $40.00.I went from about 11 around town to about 13. Also, a tonnaue cover will help highway mileage by about 2.
My 2004 Titan does this at times. It usually goes away after everything is warmed up. I always thought it was flat spots on the tires from sitting around. May be something in driveline fluids or allingment.
My 2004 Titan had one Wrangler SRA wear off in 7500 miles . The other three were gone before 20,000 miles. I switched to Continental tires. They are wearing much better so far.
