Talk, Share, Brag - Nissan Titan!

Okay so 16 year old was driving.  80 plus year old lady drives into her lane.  DIdnt think there was any damage....there was none on her car...asked if she saw any oh mine..she said no....of course never havig been in an accident....i took her word.  Dropped daughter off...and realized she damaged my front panel.  I know, I know....WHAT A DUMBASS to take her word for it.  I seriously did not feel the hit.  IT was raining and the sounds ws that of us going over water......i seriously would have stopped had I thought any damage was done.  In talking with the Insurance company...it would probably be the same to just pay for the front fender (passenger side) have it painted then it would be to claim it.

Question........does anyone know where I can get the front fender passenger panel?  I found this website...and it would just need to be painted... Your thoughts?.......http://www.car-stuff.com/store/?N=11367+4294962766+1684+11921+9206

And yes i know....IM A DUMBASS>.....on the bright side......theres still a crazy 80 year old lady our there driving....

First off, don't be so hard on yourself, crazier stuff happens all the time...

If you are looking to save a buck, it's gonna take some time & patience - there's not a whole lot of titans in wrecking yards (which is a good thing, I suppose, except in those instances such as what you are dealing with), and even fewer that are going to match your color - it always works out that way, I don't know why, it just does...

You might want to try starting with all the wrecking yards in your local area, then check online, for anything you can find, but remember, it'll cost more to paint an already painted fender, than it will a new, pre-primed one. And these days, there's so much more involved in a paint scheme, than just spraying on color, so expect it to be a little more than what you may already be anticipating...

If you cannot find anything, check NissanParts.com, it's a wholesale Nissan parts store, that will save you a few bucks, over what your local dealer will charge, if they have one in stock.

Get yourself several quotes, in separate parts & labor (for painting and installing) versus just having a body shop do all the work, & compare the total price, to what your insurance rates will cost for the next three years. Take your time, do the math, and above all else, be patient!

One other thing, choose your painter carefully, cheaper doesn't always equal better!

Hope this helps...

Thanks Joe!!!! WE are looking at aroudn 500 bucks and that seems fairly reasonable...and yup your right...Not a SINGLE wrecked titan anywhere!!!!

I feel better now that i found out it was only cosmetic and didnt ruin anything vital!!!

Thanks so much.....still trying to get up the courage to let my 16 year old drive again.....

If you ask me, that 16yr old is gonna be working for a while, to pay off the damages, lol...

But I understand completely, I've got plenty of experience in that field, with a 19-1/2 yr old, an 18yr old, and they're driving their own cars, but now my 15-1/2yr old is looking to start driving, and she wants to learn to drive, in my Titan...

Don't get me wrong, I love my kids... But HELL NO!!!

Then I've still got my 8 year old to deal with, thankfully, that ones still got a few years, before she starts asking... lol

$500 huh? That don't sound too bad at all!
The 18yr old just recently bumped into a little Hyundai Elantra, on the front left fender, and it set him back a little over $1200! With just a small impression, a little crease, and some peeled back paint...

He payed for the damages himself, to keep his record clean, & the insurance premium low, or lower, anyway...

So, good luck with everything, and if you ever have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
